WorkBoat Article: No-fly zones for drones

No-fly zones for drones | WorkBoat

I’d be interested in thoughts on this article. It obviously has some practical issues regarding enforcement, but I was wondering if anyone has had problems with drones.

Paranoia strikes deep

Bullshit. Drones are not any sort of a problem.

I agree that right now they aren’t a problem. I can see issues from the authors perspective of them being near/over passengers on river harbor cruises.

His perspective is that of a paranoid delusional snowflake who is promoting an even more intrusive nanny state solution looking for a problem. “Near” passengers, no-fly zone? It reads as if he has less than zero knowledge of drones other than what he sees on Ukrainian battle videos and thinks they are coming to a river near him. He is more of a threat to the nation than a little drone.

One thing is certain. We need a lot less government intrusion and regulations, not more.

We sure as hell don’t need a small army of under qualified new government employees pretending to work, and wielding overreaching powers, at the Department of Drone Safety.

Wouldn’t it be FAA, the ones y’all cite as the model that other agencies like the USCG should aspire to?

The FAA has solidly defended the existing airspace rules and definitions and continues to prevent people like Bernstein from imposing crap rules based on their own ignorance and fear.
