I just came in the mail and I loathe the fucking stoopid thing! What in the name of God is the USCG doing to our fine and honorable profession?
I am proud though to say it is issue #8 so my health staying good and my not marrying some rich old bag and telling all you sorry assed sob’s to go palm sand, I still hope to make it the 20 more years to issue #12! After that if I am still working for Joe Boss, I think I’ll just open a vein in a tub one day.
My last issue was number 9, I let it die on the vine in 05. There were times I felt bad about dropping it but after reading the threads on gCaptain I’m feeling so much better these days.

I still have 1 1/2 years remaining on #8. Not sure if I will renew. I’ll be drawing S/S about that time!

I’m kidding when I say there were times I would like to return. After the NK run on the SS Prudhoe Bay I knew it was time to call it quits, as I talk with folks in similar situations they mentioned they also knew “the right time.” You will also know, injunear, although it might be prudent to renew your License, just in case. I didn’t stop work, however, I got involved with commercial general aviation flying as a charter pilot and flight instructor. That now has stopped. So what do I do now, well, there’s dam good fishing in my neck of the woods, I write about this and that, read books I find interesting, talk to you guys on gCaptain, and visit with friends in my favorite Saloon. I got stories to tell. Oh, have I managed to tell everyone, I got guns too. I’m also deeply opinionated.

If it has some veiled reference to my needing any such prophylactics my dear lady you need not worry. Never ever shall Cialis, Levetra or the dreaded Viagra cross this old dog’s gums. Don’t need no hydraulic pumps or blocks and tackles either.
You know when you get old enough having all your hair, memory and a healthy woody on command begins to trump having lots of money! Course having lots of jingle gets the ladies that makes having the aforementioned attributes so enjoyable!
time for a c.captain rant moment now in the vein of the late great Andy Rooney. Just look at this picture and tell me…
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING IN SEPARATE TUBS ANYWAY! THIS STUFF IS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR DOING IT TOGETHER IN THE SAME GODDAMNED TUB! AND WHY THE FUCK DO THEY ALWAYS SHOW COUPLES WHO ARE ATTRACTIVE, SLIM & HEALTHY? CIALIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE PHUGLY, PHAT AND HAVE MATCHING HIS AND HER’S CPAP SLEEP APNEA MACHINES THAT LOOK LIKE THIS…

You know John…I think it’s getting about time to me to make a roadtrip out to the Bitteroots here soon to visit, tell sea stories, drink Maker’s Mark heavily, smoke flaming turds (sorry…Partagas’), oogle pics of Xena and Lucretia, shoot guns (Springfield M1A’s preferably) and BITCH ENDLESSLY till the wee hours. I wish I could bring the c.captain command and control mobile out there with me but that is a mightly long voyage in a vessel that only goes 45mph and gets 5mpg but if there ever was an environment where she belongs it is there.
Man, we could turn the back of my beast into a regular sweatlodge!

The Vikings are on tonight. Maybe we can learn a thing or two (Yea, THAT is a so overused bunch of naa-sings words)
I gotta get out of this place - Catch ya later.
Look, if I can enter these words after several Makers Mark, I AM INVINCIBLE
There was a time before I got married where I woulda hopped a plane to Montana once I made crew change. Sea stories, guns, cigars, booze and solving all the worlds problems before sun up…
