Uberti .45lc cattleman!
Which manufactuer is the M1 carbine?
It’s a mutt.

The Stock is National Postal meter, the sights are Universal, the action & barrel by Underwood, the magazine, sling and pouch are non-vintage new. The serial number indicates 1943 as the date of manufacture.

That one looks alot like my Virgina Dragoon in .44 mag. I use if for fishing in the deep woods here in the U.P. my oh shit, a bear!!! gun.

I’ve got one of the “crappy” Universal ones, changed it to a ramline poly stock, like you said it’s a great shooter and accurate. When ever I see some guy shooting an AR with the “whisper 300” upper I think hmmm…30 carbine?

Took the scoped mosin out yesterday, Boom!!! hitting clays at 200 meters… took about 5-7 shots to get the scope dialed in. Also my bent bolt did not arrive so I had to remove the scope after every shot. Soviet engerneering that mount must be a true 0 wiggle.

Heres a view of the mount. I had to drill and tap the reciever. I must say I did a good job for a bubba garage install. the mount was only tipped a hair down off of level.(for 200 m it was set at 400 m) Good I think using a hand drill and mounting a flat piece to a round reciever. The kit came with two steel rivits? who uses rivits? Hell I don’t even know how to use them. The instrustions were in russian and no good english guide other than pics to go by.

Luckly the POSP (PSO-1) LPS 4x6 TIP2 scope has a “re-zero” adjustment so I just need to make a small adjustment on the dial set screws and it’s all good. Then the built in ranging will be dead on.

Only two screws go into the reciever the other two are in the stock using a threaded bushing that is screwed into the stock.

According to the directions? I think the reciever is supposed to be cut flat for the mount to sit on. I did not do this and so far no problems. I indexed the screws and NO movement.

I’m glad I went this route rather than getting a re-pop “russian sniper” scope (WW2) 3.5x PU as I have heard that the re-pops suck. Also the orginal scopes you had to shim or grind the mount to get close to zero. Then the recital moves around the scope. So if the rifle was shooting left the recital had to be moved INSIDE the view making the recital OFF of center.

Dammit! Bent bolt due to arrive Weds afternoon and I’m flyin out at 0545. Ahh shoot.

At least you got a job where you can afford the toys. It’ll be there when you get back.

Gotta disagree, it’s only as fun to play with if you get it right when it comes in.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX!?

Is it just me? but when I saw this thread title, I was imagining the scene with Brad Pitt in the movie SE7EN.

One very intense scene!

I was thinking Seinfeld.

I was thinking it was a trick question…

finished! Was shooting clay pigons on the berm @ 200 meters Awsome! Fast as I could line em up and pull the trigger!

74 year old rifle and an 32 year old russian posp scope(4x) and shooting +30 year old surplus ammo. It’s shooting offhand +/- 4 moa. Impressive…

It’s the damn wrench I need to fix the leak!
