Win lose or draw, the folks in what is currently Ukraine, will be will certainly be world leaders in building, developing and operating these sea drones. Given American warships seem to be built out of aluminum, I would much prefer this sort of tech and brain power stay in western hands.

It appears that WWII strategy and weapons are not very efficient against small groups, like ingenious Ukranians and Houthie ātribale fightersā.

Sadly, to quote Trotsky, āYou may not be interested in war, but war is interested in youā. The sailors getting missiles shot at them did exactly nothing to the Houthis. Norway minded its own business in the 1930s and war showed up anyway.
If the Houthis declared today they were over their missile firing hobby and onto stamp collecting or making videos for YouTube, the rest of the planet would be thrilled to go back to ignoring them.

With the country being effectively divided between the Houthis in the North (incl. Sanaa) and the internationally recogniced Government in the South (seted in Aden) with much of East Yemen in the hands of al-Qaeda.
The Houthis being Shiits brought the Iranians in on the Houthi side, while the Saudies and UAE got involved on the side of the Sunni Government in Aden, with U.S. logistical and intelligence support.
Bombing and blocking of aid routs didnāt help the situation for the Yemeni population either.

I read an article somewhere that the Ukrainians are working on a semi-submersible USV.
One a bit like the Magura V5 that can travel several hundred miles on the surface, but then when it gets near the intended target it can take on ballast and submerge under the water and proceed to carry out the attack.
If they can succeed in developing a USV like that it would be quite scary. People on the warships wouldnāt be able to see the USVs coming on radar. Not that the Magura V5 already has a very big radar profile to begin with.

They would be detectable with passive or active sonar via ship or SOUS.
The Ukrainians can sink every ship in the Black Sea Fleet and it would not significantly affect the ground campaign.
