Twic renewal

Mine breezed through in four days the week of Christmas. I made the appointment the week before. I was door to door in the office in maybe 15 mins.
Just got mine in 8 days , shoulda got the tsa pre check add on
Didn’t realize you can do that. Just renewed mine. Too late now, but I do have a redress number which gets me through in the fast line.
They’re doing my background check now… whatever that means. The website says 21 days or less, the lady said 4-6 weeks. It would be nice if they got their crap in 1 sock!

I did the whole online and appointment crap as well, got be no where.
I was told the same thing when I called.
I put in on the 3/23 was told if i don’t hear anything by 4/25 to call them back.

I renewed last November. Walked in, no appointment, walked out 25 minutes later. Card in the mail 8 days later.

Well that’s good to know. I just did the signup on line and I’ll hit the office Monday. Just renewed some of my other cards (CaC and mil dependent)

It seems in the last month or so the turn around has slowed to a crawl.

Maybe the TSA had to repurpose people to do background checks on illegal immigrants…or maybe they sent all the TWIX people to help the airport screeners…or maybe they have committed all the TSA resources to rolling out the readers and that’s why there are hardly any screeners at the airport…or maybe…space aliens…

Yeah what’s the deal with that? High turnover? Shitty management? I notice that TSA Precheck lines are often closed.

Filled out everything online for renewal. Appointment 11 April and received my new card on the 18th.
This was through Baltimore, for sure they seemed better organized than 3 years ago.

Did my fingerprints 3/24 and still waiting. This will be my 3rd card, somebody dropped the ball.

I renewed last year, after two months I called, I received it a few weeks later. I still had time on my existing card so it wasn’t a big deal to me. I went through Panama City for that renewal, it was a nice Harley ride from Pensacola

It’s still a useless piece of plastic except to the thieves who are collecting the fee. They should wire new cards so I could at least get a free donut with the stupid thing.

Got mine back today.
3/24-4/25.
Not sure if this is everybody but I wouldn’t wait till the last min to do yours.

I just did a renewal this morning. What a freaking joke … too bad it is such a sample of how incredibly fucked up our “sekurity” apparatus is.

A TWIC is not good enough ID to renew one. The fact that the same people collect cash for “known traveler” background checks and a CG license and MM document don’t share the results of their multiple anal probes.

Isn’t “security” supposed to be a product of agencies sharing information they collect about people? So why do cash collecting offices of the "homeland (a Nazi term if I have ever heard one) sekurity not tell the office next door that Joe Blow got his anus probed a few months ago? Why isn’t a TWIC good enough to issue a known traveler number for TSA precheck which doesn’t really mean you can sail through the guys who miss thousands of guns a year while catching all the criminals who try to sneak a 3 ounce tube of toothpaste through?

Of course all those are rhetorical questions, we all know it isn’t about security, it’s about power and the ability to divert cash to campaign contributors under the guise of keeping us safe. If only someone or something could protect us from our own useless and corrupt congress.

TSA has fallen behind, taking up to a month now to renew, did the song and dance on 03/23 didn’t arrive until 04/23.

I feel much safer now:D
