Has anyone ever used the Life Saving signals as per Solas card 2?
Is it advisable to fire a star shell in the vicinity of an aircraft? I know these only rise to about 65m but surely this would ruin any pilot’s nite vision especially if wearing nite vision gear?
Also why is there a difference between the ICAO symbol for Require Medical Assistance “X” and the more familiar international code "W"
Similarly, why ICAO “Y” for yes and the international code “C”
Puzzles me.
