I think that is correct if we were going strictly by STCW (I’m pretty sure that there hasn’t been any such thing as Near Coastal in STCW for some time, if ever)
It’s in there, see STCW Regulation I/3.

Rumors. Lets take a look at Day Rates. Heard that Chouest, Harvey and HOS BIG pay raise in the works. AB $456, 1600T Mates $785 3000T Master $1100, QMED $550, 3rd Eng $765 Chief $1050. Well at least that’s what I hear at the dock.
Yes I see a new tag in N.O.
I’m taking a paycut?!?!?
That’s not even worth rolling out of the rack for
Really? They (ECO) needs to update their website. They have licensed engineers at $475.00 a day.

Heard ECO just bought Harvey…they already started to paint over the names.
I know. I set myself up on that one.
LMAO. Nobody keeps their websites up to date on pay. Good luck getting proper info from the recruiters also. Most of them don’t know what color the boats are. It’s all set by the operations dept

Let me guess a highly reputable source from the office told someone at the dock this
Heard there was a senator from the midwest trying to push through legislation to grant mariners unfettered access to port facilities, in and out, and to simplify and/or do away with all this silly TWIC nonsense. Don’t know any more than that about it, just the usual galley talk. Anybody heard anything more?
Hearing that a certain nyc based company is going to sign a new 3 yr contract, for 9%-8%-9%, paid travel, longevity pay and magical rainbows for all employees.
Will everyone get the same amount of magical rainbows or is it based on seniority?
The Internet is just a slower version of sailors talking and hearing stuff
I know for a fact, Harvey just gave raises this month. Ab’s are at $400. QMED’s somewhere in the $480 range. Mates $725. Osv captains start in the $800 range. Not 100% sure about the captain figure.
Rumor has it that all the rumors are true.
Will everyone get the same amount of magical rainbows or is it based on seniority?
No the idea is reverse seniority where the newer guys get a bigger chunk of the pie, idea is to weed out the troublemakers.
Also the regular tankermen/barge “captains” will get a %50 raise…all 5 of them
