Pay Raises Coming?
Anchorman they found a replacement for you but they could not replace there Anchor captains.
Actually, I found my replacement for them.
I know I won’t be getting one so it is not worth my time even thinking about it.
You think Scuba Steve had something to do with that???

Not sure, but it sure is starting to feel personal.

You just can’t screw a man’s dog and expect him to pay you for it.

So we know all the Companies know to the penny what every other Company is paying. (Thanks OMSA) …
Fess up fellows, what are the honest POST RAISE day rates where you work ?

Otto Candies :
AB -340
Mate Unl. no DP -550
Mate Unl. full NI Cert -700
Mate full NI Cert holding Master OSV 6000 -750
Relief Master holding Master OSV 6000 -800
Master holding Master OSV 6000 -840
Master holding Master AGT -???

I have heard that HOS was supposed to be giving a raise on December 1. It will be interesting to see what their new rate is.

Wow! That’s strong. Would like to know how the rest of the gulf compares to that? I am guessing you work for candies?

No numbers here. I will save that for someone else to post. The consensus is out. A lot of people are not happy I can tell you that. Going to ride this thing out and see how this plays out. This should be good.

I agree almost everyone onboard was insulted with the emails that came out the other day

You’re twisted. Lol

What are the rates for the engine room?

New ECO rates are equal to otto candies rates, pre raise. Still lagging behind. Hoping for something more in the stocking around Christmas.

Me and you both are hoping for more. The new rates are not up to par. Just like to know how bad we are behind everyone else. Hopefully it will be like the last raise, a few months will go by and another increase.

Its a tough reality that with all the profits these companies are posting annually, those of us who sail on board these vessels are the last to see the reward for revenue we generate through our dedication to the industry. Its about time they start sharing more of the pie. Only when they begin to lose employees by the masses to more competitive paying outfits do they feel they need to compensate more fairly. If I don’t see a bigger raise soon, I’ll be jumping over to the drill ships for sure! Who’s with me?

As long as it stays a free market all things will even out. Some companies pay more, some less. Some people demand more, some less. The beauty of it all is that it’s a free world so if you want to jump to big money on the drill ship, or another company, no one can fault you especially the guy that they hire to replace you.

If this is the start of the next boom, it will only get more interesting. I for one can’t wait!

Chouest may be behind in the pay department but, Imho, that will soon balance out and for anyone needing classes they are still top of the industry with their dedicated training center which is completely free to all employees.
The management for Chouest is quite shrewd and you can bet that there is a plan in place to stem the flood of people leaving, when they wish to.

I have to agree with you here. You have some companies that may pay a little more, but run with less crew, not to mention any cooks and sub par equipment.

Pay a little more??? If those Otto Candies rates are correct, $200 a day is more than a “little” more! Last time I looked their equipment wasn’t sub par either. We’re not looking for to be the highest paid, but you have to get close in range to what these other companies are paying. If your pumping out new boats like there’s no end, having the best safety record in the industry, Why should we be that far behind everyone else?

I heard Blessy gave out raises

Harvey Gulf has not said a peep about raises yet.
