since we’ve obviously been scrapping for this match just like England and Germany in the years before the whole thing exploded after some boob lit the fuse at Sarajevo in 1914, let’s have this out right here and now!
I say the Confederacy was a horrible cause doomed to failure but I will say that the south had better generals throughout the war. Regardless of that, victory had to go to the Union because of the industrial might of the north and the vast pool of manpower available. The south never had a prayer to win!
THE SOUTH WAS STOOPID AND THEIR CAUSE WAS NOT JUST!
Calvin Coolidge shoulda dropped the big one on Jeff Davis at the battle of Minneapolis! That would have ended this debate before it began in 1267…
Yeah! Was that right after Jesus brought us the constution? or was it before Martin Luther King nailed the civil rights to the church door at Kent State?
Uh Huh. That was a blatant yankee trap. Regesterd member of the 21st Alabama Infantry Scouts (see avatar) we’re wise to yer tom foolery…
We have the luxury of looking back over 160 years and knowing that. In 1861 many felt it was a just and was a noble cause. Had the battle at Gettysburg gone differently the already war weary northerners may have demanded a peaceful resolution ending the war and letting the south go on their way.
IMO the terrible institution of slavery would have ended by the late 1800s anyway as farming technology would have made them obsolete. I also think that the two countries would have reunited at some point thereafter anyway.

Agreed. A brutally violent and anti-American war effort made the North/South rift into a basically perpetual conflict when an impotent Confederacy would’ve come crawling back anyway, without having the excuse of having Northerners to blame for every ill. Lincoln’s white-hot contempt for anybody who didn’t submit to his violent husbandly domination, and the drooling admiration of his blood-soaked admirers has made this a conflict for eternity.
what are you implying sir?
Look at all the great works that Mr. Obama has done. Now imagine if he started 160 years ago. We would have our flying cars and everything would be free by now. But we would have to send Chuck Norris back in time as well to protect him.

Good eye! When I took my idea to the graphic design knothead I told him what to make. How I wanted the design to look I neglected to spell the whole damm thing out, hence the decals were free and I thought it was funny as well. You are the first person to ever spot it as far as i know.
It was a good machine that was was my pre-married motorcycle, now I drive a 92 geezerglide. I do miss the ligament tearing, ejection seat kickstarter though.
You sold it?? I’m sorry to hear that.
Me too :-(. Spent many hours tinkering with it. 3 deg triple tree, over sized tubes, drag pullback bar with zombie killin spikes, 10:1 compression, Andrews b grind cams. bigger jugs,(always good) flattop pistons, 4 speed box. Tuned the sprokets to the motor, cat head tail light. TCB with a lighting bolt decal on the rear fender. It had the mystical points type ignition. It was a rocketship, my wife still tells stories about the power and speed.
