First I would to thank everyone who posts replies on this board as I have been luking for about a month and ALL of my questions were answered by just reading older threads. I do have two questions if someone has the time to answer them for me .
I reviewed the Medical conditions on the CG website but did not find anything related my situation. I had two knee surjuries about 10 and 8 years ago and have not had any issues since with it ? What will they want from me relating to this situation ?
It says you can E-Mail your application to them and pay the fees online. Do I just scan them into my computer and attach them ?
I know they might seem silly but I want to avoid sending the CG an incomplete App. I appreciate any guidance anyone can offer me.
First off welcome to the forum, it sounds like you have done you homework …
I didn’t see anything about knee surgeries either…As long as it isn’t an imparement and you don’t have any limitations placed on it, you should be fine, especially after 8 years…
E mailing your application: I have no experience with that…I have had RECs misplace things from my application in the past and reccommend keeping very good copies/records of what you do give them…
Yes, sending in your application by email works well, and saves alot of time and headache. And it is possible to keep the correspondence going if you happen to be working on a boat and have internet access.
And it comes in very handy if your evaluator misplaces your information and supporting documentation. Simply re-submit it as necessary.
Thanks for the replies. This whole industry seems to be more diffult to break into than most non-Mariners know. I know I was shocked at the hoops one has to go through to what you guys do ! I think I will E-Mail the app and I will post what happens on here. I am a little worried about the job market right know but I quess if this is what I want I just have jump all the way ?
