Will be docking in Portland Maine for crew change and I’m looking for a cheep place to stay for one night before heading home. Advice?
Inn at St. John at 939 Congress Street. Its been quite awhile since I’ve stayed there so I don’t know the current prices or features. It was fairly basic but good enough, and cheap for Portland.
There is also a chain hotel with its own exit off I-95 just a few miles south of Portland. Its a good chain hotel and conference center with reasonable prices. I cannot remember the name.
There used to be a Marriott near the Airport IIRC.

There are a few reasonable priced chain type motels at the Westbrook exit on the Maine turnpike (exit 48?). These are a bit cheaper than the ones at the Maine Mall/airport exit.

Booked a room at the Inn at St. John $87 w/ taxes included. Kind of expensive but it is the high season.
