I’ve never understood why trans “persons-with-penises” cannot just go to the men’s room and squirt in the urinal.
What is their fixation on going to the women’s room full of female teenagers?
I suspect that the motivation is similar to that trans prison inmate that insisted on going to a women’s prison, but later was transferred to a men’s prison after he impregnated three women inmates.
A lot of hard working decent taxpayers, that just happen to be white males, are tired of the relentless efforts of government bureaucrats and government subsidized liberals to shove too much over the top wokeism, too fast, down our throats.
Many reasonable minds have simply shutdown to the excess. Some have been made angry.
A lot of wokeism, like all this pronoun nonsense, are just silly fads that will burn themselves out in a few years.
I kind of want to ask why there is always a child in said hypothetical bathroom? Also, that people regularly go to public restrooms and make eye contact with each other is specious at best. If anything, a ladies room is the perfect place as there are stalls with partitions and doors. It is just so ridiculous and yet it is always held up as the “won’t somebody please think of the children” argument.
The odds of you even meeting someone in passing who is trans are relatively slim. The odds of you being caught in a bathroom of a Target superstore with someone who is trans AND also a sexual deviant are somewhere between being struck by lightning and the New York Jets winning a superbowl.
I just don’t get it.

Lifetime one that I’m aware of. Sister of someone I knew was transitioning to male, but we never met.
It often does involve children.
Afew years ago (during the Bush Administration), a friend owned a couple of restaurants. He had a problem with a very masculine looking 20 something alleged “trans” using the women’s room in the afternoon when there were high school kids in the restaurant. Girls complained. Parents complained. Boyfriends complained. A couple of the boyfriends assaulted the “trans.” The owner told the “trans” to stay out of the women’s room, and to use the men’s room. The “trans” persisted. They banned the “trans.” The “trans” returned and persisted. They had to have the police give the “trans” a criminal trespass notice.
The alleged “trans” filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission. After $100,000 in legal fees the Commission ruled in favor of the alleged “trans” and ordered that the “trans” be readmitted to the restaurant and allowed to use the women’s room.
No one in the community believed that this alleged “trans,” widely believed to have a full compliment of male equipment, was actually trans.
The owner immediately closed the restaurant and sold the building. End of that story.
I occasionally go to a pub (no children allowed) where the owner knows this same restaurant owner. The words “men” and “women” have been removed from the doors (but you can still see the outline of the words). The bathroom doors have new signs underneath that say “Whatever.” As far as anyone knows, no trans has every patronized this pub. The “Whatever” signs are a source of amusement.

So, I don’t like his tweet definitely think this guy is a bit of a crazy leftist. My question is, why didn’t the admiral answer the question? Why did they hire him? Is he onto something? Is he right or wrong? What exactly is he doing at USMMA anyway? Furthermore, why is fox or congress (for that matter) getting so hungover over this? There are so many many more important issues when it comes to the merchant marine or USMMA, so whats the play here? Also, no where did I read anything concrete about WHAT was woke coming from the academy. What has changed? What are they saying? That you should respect peoples pronouns? Respect peoples gender, religion, etc. Nothing woke about that, that’s just part of being a good shipmate.
My sentiments exactly. No matter which side of the ilse, its always different when we do it OR they’re doing it because the other side did it first. I don’t like his tweet, but i also don’t think we should judge people by their tweets. Social media is meant to be inflammatory. Brings out the worst in all of us. Yes though, it makes sense things will get more “woke” as they need to do something. Question is, is something better than nothing?

I know a couple of trans people but never met one while sailing. Did run across some odd characters though. There was a BIG heavy AB I worked with that liked to wear women’s clothes when he got into port. First time I saw him I was like WTF? He said I just like to wear women’s clothes you gotta problem? I said I didn’t but warn me if you decide to wear a bikini. He said he had one but only wore it at home. I asked him where he got it, Norfolk tent and awning?
I’ll say this no one individual ever dared taunt that monster.
A diversity of opinions is offensive to some people as well. It frightens them that some people have different views of the world than they do.

What - a sea story that is exaggerated? That would be a first.
This isn’t meant to denigrate, but I don’t find most non-cisgender people overly attractive. Either as a male, female or non-gender. I have one I work with who I think goes by he or she. No real issues except that he/she often wears short shorts. And that just is wrong in so many ways.
There’s one on one of the big ATBs running around the Gulf. He used to work in the office, now she works on the rig.
KP is going woke, no doubt about it.
The day a KP cadet comes onboard and says he/she identifies as the Captain is the day I quit. 
On another note, due to the associated liability now with cadets and new regulations rules for KP cadets, I heard that a specific company has decided not to take cadets anymore. Not just KP cadets just no cadets ever again. I did hear that every ship a company has which is receiving a MSP stipend, has to take cadets. All other US flag vessels are not obligated.
If so he’s at least consistent, I recall him discussing that crewmember a couple years back
I’ve also seen officers/crew just avoid and ignore them altogether. It’s sad, but no one wants to deal with them after all this or are afraid of what an accusation alone can do to them.
Since I do not live in the USA but a month or two a year and I do not follow the news there I have no idea what “woke” is. So I looked it up. according to the the governor of my former home state of of Florida it means,

Well looking at it that way I guess I am “woke”. Since I know there is a system for justice for the rich and another for the working folks.
Back in the day we didn’t call this “woke” we called it reality.
I think most folks would be better off ignoring labels from the left or the right of the political spectrum. Ignore politics and politicians because at the end of the day they ignore you.
