Hit & Run Ferry Accident Kills 1, Mass Casualty Incident For Others

This is an odd one. I haven’t heard many stories of major hit & run boating incidents unless it was a large ship & small boat in the middle of nowhere.

I read yesterday the small boat skipper who hit the ferry blew a zero on the breathalyzer. Now he claims he didn’t leave the scene & stuck around until help arrived. Who knows? But I do know things aren’t always as they first appear?

The guy left the scene, its on video. Collision and leaving. He’s rich so he’ll be OK. His insurance will take a hit though

His lawyer says he had crew call 911 and stay on the phone with them, and stayed at the scene until emergency crews arrived and IIRC assisted injured and maybe even transported a baby ashore, and that there’s video and tape of all of it.

That’s not what the 30 seconds of video I saw looked like, but there ya go.

I looked but can’t find a full, un-edited video. Only the 1.5 minute clip.

He also saved a school bus that crashed on the bridge and was teetering over the edge! :superhero:

A little bit about this guy. Not saying he’s guilty this time but he does have a history.

Good link & the caught on camera action sure looks pretty damning. That channel appeared to be wide open & he didn’t slow down or alter course. Direct hit. From the link you provided, the last time he just paid the victims off. This time there’s a death. Even if he is connected to city hall, law enforcement or the prosecutors office his lawyers will have a hard time paying off & sugarcoating a death at sea, at least I hope they do.
