Harvey crane boat in town

Looks like you have to have gorilla arms to operate that boat. How in the world does someone reach all over the dash to access the controls? Or while using the radio microphone? Doesn’t appear to be possible to reach anything from that chair either even when it slides to and fro.

These are just around the corner boys… Delivery of at least four starting 2nd Q 2015. I can’t wait.

In case the rotor wash blows a crewman off the helideck. They land in the netting not the sea or a deck below.

I thought you were referring to the netting AROUND the helideck, I did not view the photo until after my post…

I’m 6’2" i reach all the controls with no problem. Yes I am on the deep sea. You should come by and see it

Yea, I was referring to the netting physically ON the deck…

The rope net is for helicopters to get tangled up in in the event of a crash landing, also used for ice landings

You cant be serious…

Yes, the skids on the helicopter can get caught up in it but, it’s primary function is cold weather, ice, frost. When we were in Alaska they used them all the time. When you purchase something it comes complete, you don’t have to use it. So the netting will be coming off. PHI and ERA both asked if we could remove it.

Sorry but it still doesnt make sense to me. Why in hell yould you want burning helicopter wreckage to be tangled in a net on the deck? I also cant imagine too many ice landings in the GOM.

Sounds like an idea some desk jockey thought of because it “sounded like a good idea” but in reality, its a different story.

Do any offshore boats utilize talon grids? It works better than any net…

Ultra-durable landing and perimeter nettings secure helidecks on offshore structures and seagoing vessels, preventing helicopters from sliding and personnel from falling overboard.
That is what’s on the helideck of the Deep-Sea
