I know where Shane gets his tug jobs from
I actually heard from several sources Monday that a purchase agreement was in place for Harvey Gulf to purchase Abdon Callais. It looks as if Harvey will keep the DP-2 boats (and stretch them) and someone else will purchase the smaller vessels from him.
That I did not see coming, I would call bullshit, but you made all of us eat crow when you called the GOL purchase. Now the question is who will purchase the smaller boats?
I’m interested in the talk about stretching them and will they still be 100 ton boats when they are done.

Don’t have any kids, but if he wants to by the house he is more then welcome as he has a habit of over paying as far as I’m concerned. At least none of the deals he has made have struck me as steals as far as the purchase goes.
Onion.
If this guy keeps posting here I have to change my nickname.
By the looks of it, we wont see him around in awhile.

From what I understand Bollinger was contacted by Harvey in regards to stretching the Callais DP-2 vessels. By removing the mud tank baffles, and stretching, the tonnage would be raised significantly. The Callais boats are nothing to write home about but I guess Harvey is looking at it from a market share standpoint. They can gain ground immediately by putting 10-15 more boats into service. From a crewing standpoint I think most 1600T guys would rather work on more modern and technologically advanced than these boats.
Could still be a rumor but I have heard this from multiple people and with specific details.
If this is the case then hopefully there are spots on other 100 GRTs down the line for all of the people that are on those boats now. After any stretch, there will be very few if any pre-stretch people that has enough (if any) papers that’ll allow them to stay onboard an ITC/SOLAS/ISM/500-3000 ton boat.
Once that boat goes to the yard, that whole crew will have to find work. And there is a reason (or two) that’ll prevent them from obtaining said papers which is the same reason (or two) they are there to begin with.
It’s not about being on Shane’s nut sack or being a company man, it seems like you folks on here always have something negative to say about this company, and don’t have a clue other than what you hear. I’d rather be apart of a smaller company like this, rather than be one of Gary’s puppets! 250 boats so the fuck what! And what’s the pay over there again! OVER AND OUT!
I left HGIM a few months ago. I am now treated as an adult and much better pay and benifits. For me the grass is way greener on the other side of the fence. Btw when is the retirement bonus coming?
There is a lot of things going on at HGIM but buying ACO is a bad move. The office is a mess after the GOL buy out.Shane is self centered but he owns the company. So he can say what he wants long as the check clears da bank.
I’ve been at ECO since January couldn’t be happier.

While I’d prefer the biggest and best I will work on any DP 1 or DP 2 classed vessel. I don’t care what it pays or who signs the checks
The Helidex Helipad is aliuminum, the supporting structure is steel,it has the capacity of holding the largest helicopter in the gulf. The helideck waiting room has theater seating and 4 TV’s Shane did well with the Deep-Sea. The LNG vessels from Trinity will blow this one away. can’t wait.
What kind of work are they doing to it? It seems a crew is working 24/7 on it.
I was wondering that myself
