Anyone else hear that Harvey bought them out? On a crew change run out to green canyon 680 a few of the Eco guys were talking about it

I have a few friends working at GOL and they haven’t heard anything.
I was just curious. Quite a few of them were talking about it. I did hear about the new ships coming out in the next year or two. Sounds interesting to be on a 500+ ft construction boat
Like to hear some details about these 500ft construction ships. I know it’s not GOL your talking about, because that’s definitely not happening.
Talking about Harvey.
First I’ve heard of that. Maybe I missed their announcement? Anyone have the scoop?
If it is anything like the 300 footer they are building now it will be a disaster. That boat is nothing but a supply boat with a small crane and a heliport.
You can’t run a construction boat like that, you have to have a fast ballast system to counter the crane when making heavy lifts, a place for the ROV besides the weather deck, and a big A and R winch to be any real use in deep water. The one they are building now is no where near a construction boat.
I would be real suprized if Harvey is building something that big. That would have to be unlimited tonnage, now way around it.
The scuttlebutt said is wasn’t Harvey, but Dino Chouest had a check in his hands to buy the larger GOL boats and some/all of their Fourchon dock spaces. I wont believe anything until I see it.
Also just in, ECO is paving their office with gold bricks, a free Cadillac to every employee, and Ice Cream machines on all the boats…

I don’t work for ECO but I already get a nice gold brick every 2 weeks, and I already have an ice cream machine on my boat.
I thought everybody had a ice cream machine on their boat. Ours sits between the espresso and icee machines.
Ours is just above the glory hole…

Any more on this? I was told Chouest is taking over the dock but Harvey is, or has bought the boats. I try not to pay much attention to it until they start slinging paint and changing the logo.
Chouest has officially taken over the GOL shore base and their employees. it is now called C-TERMINAL .
