Believe it or not, but the worldâs biggest coal port want to change to be a hub for Green Hydrogen!! And that is even in Australia, the biggest producer of coal and one of the biggest emitters of GHG in the world:
What have the Aussies come to, some sort of world saviours??
Well fair dinkum, it is only Newcastle that has gone green. I was getting worried they had all gone wackoâŚ
Western Australia is seeing itâs future as an exporter of green hydrogen:
With the firstLH2 tanker soon on her way to pick up the first load of liquid hydrogen:
But not Green Hydrogen yet. (This can better be described as Brown/Black Hydrogen, since it is extracted from Brown Coal, using power generated from Black CoalâŚ
Norwegian Hydrogen AS can buy an industrial site on Hellesylt that will be used for a hydrogen factory. It was decided by a unanimous municipal council in Stranda.
If a hydrogen factory is built in Rauma, it will be on Marstein. - The probability that the factory will be realized is quite high, says Jens Berge in Norwegian Hydrogen.
The fact that the plant is thought to be located precisely on Marstein has to do with the fact that the village is conveniently located in view of the large amounts of electric power required for the electrolysis process.
PS> This is only two of many plans for green hydrogen production in Norway, base on abundance of cheap hydro electric power and plans for future offshore and onshore wind power.
