Gel insoles

Don’t know if any of you use gel insoles … but if you do, try these guys - I just got some and they are very well made and comfortable and they are reasonably priced.

Support a made in America company …

Ener-gel is a company that was recently dropped from Walmart after 18 years, leaving the proud and small family business with an uncertain future. Despite Walmart’s recent ‘patriotic pledge’ to stock their shelves with an additional $50 billion of American-made merchandise, the huge retailer still seems bent on canning American-made companies that make things in the USA like ENER-GEL in favor of companies that import all of their goods from China like Dr. Scholl’s.

Thanks for posting. I’ll give them a try.

I use Superfeet

My brother once worked for a ski boot company called surefoot that has special equipment that measures the contours of your foot and carves out custom insoles. It is the same equipment podiatrists use to make prescription soles.

Even if you don’t have foot problems it might be worth the trip to the podiatrist if you spend a lot of time on deck.

Actually, because they conform to your feet, the insoles work best if you have perfect feet with a strong curve (conversely… save your money if you are flat footed)

John - is that a more advanced system then the Dr Scholls system advertised at drug stores? Why do you say not to worry if you have flat feet, which I do.

I did have a pair of inserts custom made once and it sure did make a difference, if anyone is on the fence about them.

I have a pair of those, too, from a podiatrist. They were around 400 bucks and that was several years ago. I tend to get plantar fasciitis if I don’t stretch enough. Walking on hard surfaces makes it worse.

The Superfeet line I mentioned is the closest I can get to customs. They have different arch heights to choose from.
