The people of that city are used to death. I moved there in '96 from a city with an average of 15 murders a year & New Orleans had 11 murders my first weekend. IMO, the LEO’s of that parish & city commit & get charged with a lot of senseless murders. I’ve been friends with a guy for 20 years who has lived in the French Quarter his whole life & his dog has been shot twice! I seen the scars. Below is an interesting article that I read recently that shows one of the reasons why New Orleans was nicknamed “The City of the Dead”. During bad seasons 10% of the city would die every year. This was before the Spanish Flu & drug trade violence plagues. I’m not surprised New Orleans is hit hard by the coronavirus. That place is jinxed.

To get the economy going we need COVID19 testing. It’s not hard. The technology is there. Nothing needs to be invented. We just need a leader that can get things done.
Once on-demand COVID19 testing is available we can identify the sick and the rest of us can get back to business as usual.
But what can we expect when we have a situation where the states are bidding against each other in auctions for the same PPE! The man at the top tells the governors they should take the lead, and supply their own stuff. Sheer madness!
Supposedly this is a “war” against Covid19. Imagine if this was WW2, and Roosevelt told the 165th New York Infantry regiment they had to get their ammo from NY. What if Roosevelt had told the state of West Virginia to supply all the shells for the battleship West Virginia?

We need massive testing and we need it now. That means the man at the top has to stop his revenge-tweeting and get something done.
Because it’s the only Hail Mary chance he has at reelection. And, sure, it probably won’t pay off. But just as he’s done his entire life, Trump has no problem gambling with other people’s money and well-being — even if the stakes could be fatal.
Pre-pandemic, Trump’s case for reelection could be summed up as: “But the economy.” Ignore the racism, misogyny, abuses of power, environmental destruction, kids in cages, the siphoning of taxpayer funds into Trump-owned golf cart rentals. The economy has been good! And, rightly or wrongly, voters credit him. So long as stocks are high and unemployment is low, Americans might be willing keep him in charge.
Now, of course, that political strategy has collapsed.
More than 22 million people filed for unemployment in the past month; economic output is expected to shrink this quarter at its fastest pace on record. Even leaving aside the U.S. death toll of more than 41,000, Trump is dangerously close to failing the “are you better off today than you were four years ago” test on economic metrics alone.
This could play out in a few ways.
We could wait until epidemiologists say it’s safe to reopen the economy. That would presumably come after we’ve massively scaled up testing, tracing and isolation of infections, and mandated adaptive measures so that more people can return to work. Such measures might include more protective gear and limits on person-to-person contact in offices, restaurants and stores. Which would require a relatively gradual reopening, even after the pandemic’s peak passes.
While this strategy is likely to pay off in the long run, that long run probably wouldn’t come in time to help Trump campaign on the economy.

Something tells me this guy probably gets half this worked up just while ordering ice cream at the Baskin-Robins.
What he says about deferring mortgage payments during this crisis to the end of the contract is a no-brainer. Its commonsense. No additional interest, no late fees & the lender doesn’t forgive any payments, only delays them. I’m a lender on three mortgage type contracts similar to “owner financing” & that is exactly what we did. It would be so immoral & so much of a hassle to try to squeeze money from people who don’t have it & ruin 3 perfectly healthy business arrangements. It’s the right thing to do & good business sense.

It really takes a visionary to assert that humans will not give business to companies that are killing them (especially with a free appetizer coupon). That’s why alcohol and tobacco are dead industries and STDs were eradicated from all prostitutes long before prophylactics.
I was never a baseball prospect, but when I slowed down, I switched to slow pitch softball and hit 600. I played with guys that hit 750 with about half their hits being homeruns. There is NOTHING that this dipsh*t won’t lie about.
