Chouest Raises Again?

I have never seen a company give out a raise and not tell people before hand that it was coming weeks in advance. Still surprises me when guys with way more experience then me get their hopes up for a raise thinking it will just magically appear with out ever hearing anything from the office.

I guess you don’t or haven’t worked for CHOUEST then. They are notorious for doing just that. They let the unfaithful leave and then…Boom! There’s your raise!

Actually I did, and no I always knew ahead of time when I was getting a raise.

But that said I don’t ever remember getting an across the board raise, it always came from moving up.

Well that’s how they roll!!

Hornbeck gave no notice this spring, they just showed up at Fourchon and went boat to boat announcing new day rates,
I have never seen a company give out a raise and not tell people before hand that it was coming weeks in advance. That sounds like they told you it was happening, it didn’t just appear on your check with no notice one day.

Here, let me help some since you want to point out the smallest of details. There was no talk around the fleet about raises. I didn’t hear anyone on the boats saying “August 1st I hear the company will announce a raise.” They just showed up and said here’s the new rates. Once a few boats found out the word spread then.

well no sign of raises in the foreign crewboat division so far. woulda been nice.

BTW when Hornbeck gave raises this spring guess how I found out? Right here!

and Seacor did give a raise but it was not 90 buck across the board, for AB i think it was about 21. I’ll take it.

Bump

WHat is seacore paying AB’s now?

I just heard that Seacor is paying AB’s 290 per day… Capt. Got a big raise and also engineers.
I use there own Operations Manual against them daily for my own amusement which beats reality TV and sports.
LOL.We get our thrills where we can. That is indeed a fun pass time.

I’ve been with Seacor for nearly 14 years, and have no intention of leaving unless the pay scale falls WAY behind. Given that they purchase my plane ticket back and forth is worth a few bucks and I genuinely have enjoyed working for them most of those 13+ years, I see no point in leaving. I am more concerned with the way they are letting other companies new build programs leave our equipment in the dust. I will say that they are a very fiscally solvent and diverse company that always makes a buck, and I take great comfort in that fact.

Oh, my raise was about half that $90/day. (1600/3000 master w/ unltd DP)

So with all this raise talk. Which company is top dog now? Still candies or GOL? I think HOS has bettered CHOUEST too.

I think this forum needs a pay chart, like the ROV forums have. We could just have a sticky at the top with the current reported pays for each company followed by position. You would then just message a moderator in charge with what your company is paying you. Simple, easy.

And from what I head ECO is not even close to the top again by hundred bucks for the top spots. But I am along way from the top, so I will stick where I am!

Not only that, the office backs me up! Money is the third thing I worry about.

Times are good in the GOM Oilfield. Let’s enjoy it.

If ECO is not the highest paid it doesn’t matter that much because you don’t have to worry about their boats not having jobs. Making $100/day more elsewhere for a year and then having your boat stacked and your job eliminated isn’t worth it in my opinion. Their boats are nicer than anyone else’s, have longer charters than anyone else and higher day rates. The pumpkin patch is and has grown faster than anyone else and everyone else is picking up scraps in the deepwater segment.

Disclaimer: I don’t work for ECO.
