I thought the Ardvaak would be carried by the Blue Marlin to up past where the waves are just in case?
Blue Marlin left already some time ago, back to Singapore. It’s going to be a towing job.
Polar Pioneer on Marine Traffic shows them coming up on Port Townsend at 5kts. Puts them at West Point approx. 1400-1430ish. I’ll probably go out for a bit. Have to dig for my telephoto.
Curious how many plastic boaters will show up, hope I don’t have to use the law of tonnage

There’s a small flood giving them a boost to 7kt now, might need to get out earlier. At least all the action is going to happen during daylight. I’ve got my camera and biggest lens set up on a tripod and am waiting at my secret lair near Pt. Wells.
I’m at Shilshole now. About to get u/w.

They have two USCG vessels accompanying them, I guess they’ll deal with them (if needed).

Sorry, didn’t have a chance to sit down and post until today and now the images I uploaded aren’t posting to the forum. Still working on it.
Some of the more amusing photos of the kayativists are from The Stranger, Seattle’s alt weekly.

I find it absolutely impossible to see how anyone can feel intimidated by a bunch of granola eating, tofu farting idiots driving to a port in their Prius and paddling around on a kayak or paddle board while chanting cutsie (technical term) little rhyming chants . They seem like, to anyone with half a brain or more, to be nothing more than annoying little flies. Swat them and move on I say.

You’re correct that these protesters are pantywaists! I advocate getting serious and planting Limpet mines just like the French frogmen did with the Greenpeace vessel RAINBOW WARRIOR in Aukland!
Now that is how you protest the protesters!
I agree. I used to have to deal with those types when I lived in the bay area. Such a pain in the @$&.#
As far as the Aiviq goes. We should all know that happened because they left port on a Friday. You don’t set sail for a voyage on a Friday. DUH. Everyone knows that.
Yeah a fact proven by Captain Friday!!
Years ago a Shell tanker left a bit of oil on a penguin colony in Australia, once the public knew and without any call to arms ( pre internet) no shell gas station in australia had a customer the next day.
I have to admit I was gobsmacked at my fellow countrymens action
Thats the power of public action.
