Chief Engineer is required to have III/2.

A DDE covers vessels under 500GRT. I assume with III/2. I was just pointing out the company requirement.

it shows that if you apply for 2nd AE, you don’t have to take extra exams to add Chief Engineer-Limited.

Is that still the case or is the MSM outdated?

The table is still correct that if someone applies for and is approved for 2nd AE and CE-Limited at the same time , there is no exam other than the one for 2nd AE.
