It IS only for officers. I am over here and gotten a couple of ENG hired.
Wonder if they gave the guys the bonus to sign on if they stayed on the boats that were bought out?
I talked to a friend of mine that worked at GOL and was on one of the vessels purchased. They good a sign on bonus when it happened.
Dang auto correct. Got a sign on bonus
Spoke with Harvey on the phone on Friday. They seem to only want people that are working presently with other supplyboat companies. That was the feeling I got. The person on the phone basically was saying “work for someone else for a time then give us a call”.
Does anyone else agree with this? I currently sail as 2nd Engineer on a tanker and im looking to get back into the OSV industry because of where the pay is now.
Also, does anyone think that because I have been sailing Union will that hamper my efforts of getting hired by an OSV company? Should I just come right out and address it in the interview?
Don’t think it’s an issue unless you make it one. My 2 cents.
I heard Harvey was offering Chouest Officers a $10,000 sign on bonus to convert to Harvey, any truth to that?

Any company will pay if u have what they need one way or another. HGIM is not the only company giving hiring bonuses.
Wow, if their giving 10 k for Chouest people I wonder what their paying for HOS people.
I would guess double

HOS Officers have super powers!! Ask them they will tell you!!
Paid travel?
For everyone too or so someone on here said
Need a referral.?!
heard deck hands, and officers have been leaving chouest for harvey left and right. When we asked our boss he said they were thinking about giving them a raise, but then they looked at the stack of applications on their desk for chouest, and said it wasn’t happening anytime soon. So i guess harvey will have most of chouest’s works in the next few months. Just a matter of time
Sometimes companies dont understand that they will spend more time and quality services training a whole bunch of new guys at the same time than giving a raise.
But for them to loose their contracts to another companie just because of this is a lot more difficult that just loosing personnel.
