Bugs, A hypothetical for you: [and yeah, diverting a bit. If your primary concern is collateral damage, could one make the argument that “many innocents” would still be alive, if a former prez [or two] had armed the Ukrainians before Putin’s invasion?
The war, most likely would be over. by now, and here it is, starting year 5. . .
Now back to my original post. One could argue that the number of school children pales in comparison to 32,000. Put another way: get a few killed to prevent a genocide?? It’s a tough question. And a more difficult answer.
Well Mr smarty pants FYI , I as polite, non-native speaker consider it highly inappropriate to instruct a native speaker to read with understanding. But u asked for it leaving me no other choice.
But appreciate your action, acting as self proclaimed spokesman on behalf of @Sand_Pebble who has elected not to delve into more spicy details regarding the use of the tool refered to as boner.
Fyg the question was not about missing instruction manual of the said equipment but about the local parlance and use of idioms by local native speaking community .
If however u feel competent to educate me on some kinky aspects re the usage of said tool do not hesitate to contact me via PM not to embarrass with details this noble Forum puritan community.
My primary concern is about killing ANYBODY for whatever reason.
Killing children (it is now reported to be 165 dead children) by bombing a place because there were a rocket battery close by some years ago, doesn’t indicate any sophisticated targeting, or intelligence.
PS: To call 165 dead children “collateral damage” is not worthy of you. As a veteran of wars and a fellow Master Mariner I hold you to a higher standard.
This standard: The 1968 Mỹ Lai massacre resulted in hundreds of Vietnamese civilians killed by U.S. troops. The 1901 Samar campaign in the Philippines involved widespread destruction.
or may be You Dr.Bugge are thinking about this standard:
Some standards.
and the other guy you are talking to has spent too much time listening to delusions of Hodges and Petraeus campaigning against barefooted and shmatte covered opponents with known results.
Thanks for the question, which you apparently couldn’t wait for me to answer.
I posted a link to Aljazeera, didn’t you look at that?
PS: Sorry it isn’t likely to be on Fox News. I guess Aljazeera is not on your normal newsfeed, but it doesn’t harm to have a bit wider perspective on world events.
Are you referring to Clinton or Harris?
[note I refrained from using “Bengazi” or “word salad” as adjectives. LOL] I’m sorry, I just had to. I know I’m gonna burn in gcaptain “hell”. A thousand comedians, and here I am.]
Regarding my veteran status: The North Vietnamese routinely put AA guns adjacent to hospitals & schools, and when they were hit, claimed foul. The Iranian school was adjacent to IRGC barracks. Many times sh!t happens in war. I prefer to believe it was an errant warhead, perhaps damaged by defensive fire, as opposed to deliberate targeting. Or did the school succumb to blast damage?
As for the Mariner part? WTF? Look, I’m not going to knock you for “primary concern” you mentioned. But I don’t share that. If someone has evil intent & is intent on doing me or my family previous harm - I will act without mercy. You no doubt have seen road-rage videos on FB. Should that happen to me, a guy aggressively attacking me, if I’m unable to evade, he’s gonna become either a hood ornament, or a speed bump. . . And I will sleep well that night.
Perhaps not as combating and exposing cognitive dissonance is a challenge even for experts in the field ,with very low ratio of success especially with individuals and/or cases claiming God given exceptionality mixed with hubris and narcissism.
So it would be a waste of time and will result in increased number of hostiles here due to acute tribalism .
Besides I have not challenged anything yet but commented on another user disproportionate application of focus and scrutiny of his inquisitive mind .
As regards the girl’s school it didn’t need much imagination to stage it. Just a building with a bit of blast damage and some scorched furniture.
I’m trying to reconcile expat Iranians celebrating here and in Iran that their country is being bombed. I can only conclude that must be better than what they had.
The real immediate test is going to be how soon can the US make safe a passage through the Strait of Hormuz so shipping can be restored. If this doesn’t happen quickly there will be a whole lot of pissed off people in Asia and elsewhere.
