First story I’ve seen about this: http://www.workboat.com/buls-eye/vigor-gets-bigger?utm_source=NewsLinks&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=InformzNews
Having worked for both Kvichak and Vigor, all I can say is…sorry Kvichak.
Vigor has bought too many West Coast shipyards. They have become a monopoly. In the PNW.
I was surprised myself to read that today, well not much left except Dakota Creek, Nickles Bros, and Fairhaven, northlake and ludd for large tonnage now.

Nichols Bros for large tonnage? They don’t even have a drydock and launch from a crawler.

FUCK! Makes me want to start one in Everett and sell it to em for a big $$$
can someone tell me where the HELL they got their money from? The Mafia? Chinamen? Space Aliens?
c.cap
They got their cheddar from the US taxpayer by raping the government on haul outs and scheduled maintenance…
…btw
Nichols Bros. can launch heavier than Kvichak.
…think FSF-1 Sea Fighter.

sell em another one in Everett…Vigor can’t have too many shipyards you know. They’re getting to be like Starbucks with coffee houses on opposing corners of an intersection…
This is how they destroyed Seattle!

I knew that…think EMPRESS OF THE NORTH!
Nichols has a ways up there they can haul up 100’ tugs and barges they built the superstructure for the new Ferrys there as one complete unit and loaded it out just fine
