I looked on eBay for comparisons as I could be interested. Saw a '47 with zero bids at $450, a '62 at $500 and a '58 with a buy it now price of $1095

Sadly, they’re not worth what they used to be. Blame GPS for that and laziness of mates these days.
Does your’s have the straight or monocular scope? I’d say the monocular would make it more valuable.
There is one on Craigslist in Seattle right now with the 3x straight scope for $500/obo so I’d say if you could get anywhere above $400 you should take it.
NOW I am forced to ask the hard question of exactly WHO was supposed to be on the bridge standing watch that day back in June when the NOBLE DISCOVERER dragged anchor and GROUNDED in plain sight for the entire world to witness?
Hmmm?
BTW “a frien of mine that works there told me this one” “MR WHO” wanted to call a GENERAL ALARM becouse he put himself in a situation were there was a ship 2 miles away from him and he couldnt put the ship on DP, and he lost manual control of the ship (By not knowing were the control was lol), and to solve the situation he turn on the NUC lights on perfectly good ship 2XLOL. AND THATS A SDPO(Chief Mat/ Captain/ Comodore/ insert what ever BS you want here) FOR YOU
Interesting that this tread resurfaces just now because I have been asked by the widow of a deceased shipmaster to sell his old sextant. It is a C. Plath circa 1966 with bakelite case and 5x monocular scope. Overall the instrument is in very good condition but shows the use of many decades and tens of thousands of sea miles.

PM me for more photos or info. I advised the lady that I believe the sextant to be worth $500 but she decided that I should ask $450 for it if it goes to a fellow professional mariner like her late husband.
I have an old Heath…passed down by my father’s before me. I love it…‘00’ correction…sorry that it does not answer your question.
