Are you thinking of Seaward Services? They were running the former Hawaii Superferries as USNS Guam and USNS Puerto Rico for the Navy for a while.
Seaward Services is still operating the USNS Guam, the Puerto Rico name was actually given to one of the new T-EPF ships, that vessel is leased to the Canadian Government as a Nova Scotia to Portland Maine fast ferry “Cat” in the summer. I was Chief on both of them during their lay up period and for Guam’s conversion at Detyens in Charleston, SC.
