I’m a little skeptical about the choice of music for this particular setting, and I can’t speak Finnish, but other than that this is pretty cool. I WANT ONE. Who’s with me?
cute!
I on the otherhand have sets my sights a wee bit higher…
anyone got $40M they don’t need at the moment?
alright a bit carried away but I love anything which is steam powered…
there’s the AFRICAN QUEEN…
btw, the PNW has a large and healthy steam vessel following with quite a few steam powered launches here
of course, there’s not a single thing wrong with slow speed direct reversing diesels as in the QUAIL which sits for sale in the same port as the ORCA. Built in 1940 as a cannery tender, she is powered by a 6cylinder 200hp Atlas Imperial and would make any old tug enthusiast proud, but vintage tugboat lovers are few and far between and she has now sat for sale for at least 5 years.
Been aboard her and met the old guy who has been her owner for something like 50years. I wonder if he is still alive even?

I must have lost the pics but earlier this century, there was a QUEEN replica and a beautiful old wooden tug towing yachts around Anacortes.
I’d like to get a ride on Cangarda someday too

The open steam launch may be one belonging to the Thompson family (who the UW’s ship is named after) who own an island and used to run the scale railroad in Anacortes. My dad helped them lay tracks on their island in the 1950s.
