I was told by two friends that because my license has STCW on it, when I renew my license it will automatically rollover and be on my new one. Is this true?

Licenses do not simply have “STCW on” them. Rather they usually have many individual STCW endorsements on them. Whether they continue on your new license or if you need to take steps to do other things to make that happen depends on which ones you are talking about.
I took the STCW 95 and right after I renewed my 100 ton license. In it shows" holder of this credential meets the STCW 1995 regulations…
I am now going to be renewing the 100 ton again in about two months to keep win the 5 year expiration. Does the STCW 1995 rollover to the new license or do I have to do the whole class again. I appreciate your help!

I have some grape jelly on mine. Not sure if that will roll over or not. There has been quite a few changes lately, so if you make your living with your “license” you might want to read up a bit on the subject.

On my license now it says" holder of this credential meets the STCW 1995…". I am renewing my 100 ton license in a few months to stay within the 5 year requirements… I have tried to find out the answer to my question but came up empty… Does the STCW continue on my renewed license or do I have to do it over again. Any serious answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
