Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum, although I’ve been reading posts for a while. I’m writing to ask for help. I’ve been considering applying to a company in the US for some time, hence my questions. Where is the best place to start applying like a 3rd/2nd mate DPO? What experience do I need? What requirements do I need to meet? Thank you for your answers in advance:)
Only US Citizens can be officers on US vessels, or get a US CoC, with some local hire requirements exceptions for US vessels working in foreign countries.
However, you could probably get a job on foreign flag vessels owned by a US company.
