Well, glad to see you admit there are exceptions. But, do you think perhaps that your experience (as limited in time and number of interactions) may not have been wholly representative of everyone in the GOM? You couldn’t have been there that long and certainly would only have had the chance to interact with just so many people. Maybe you just won the unfortunate lottery to get the worst there was? Maybe you got off on the wrong foot and that just doomed you from the start? It does sound like you have one particular person or crew that was the problem for you. You don’t do yourself any favors by trying to paint everyone else with the same brush.
The only drama I encountered in a work environment that had equal amounts of men and women and 0% ignorant hick was that the stewardesses would bitch at the engineers if we touched anything after they cleaned it. That was more of a departemental thing. I would say that the GoM is just mostly a bunch if ignorant hicks and they strive to keep it that way.
I see I haven’t missed anything in the past week. That dumb broad is still rising to the bait. Most fish, once caught then released, are smart enough to swim away without biting again. Not this one though. It just goes on and on and on. Must have Energizer batteries.

Yea I’m not interested in explaining to someone everyday why I don’t think it’s a good idea to marry someone you hardly know so life can be more convienent for them. Yea, I’m sure that’s how it works, you just point at someone and say “yup, that one”, then you get married and then everything works perfectly. Well if you had an issue with someone and were pretty much told up front that it didn’t matter what happened, because you weren’t important enough due to “operational requirements” because that person with less time in the industry than you had some bullshit license and you didnt, so not only did you get a license, but a bigger license than that fucker, and also took classes and training EVERY time you were off to the point where you didn’t even know the meaning of time off, and that incompetent, spineless bullshitting bullshitter still had a job and you didn’t…you would be pretty pissed off too. That is pure 1100% sexism and chauvinism at its finest. I know the world is not a perfect place but I would say the GoM supply boat world really takes the cake.

absolutely, I am. But usually have 1,000 things to do so don’t make it to the bar until 1500 or so. I have to time it so I can have a good buzz going by time my wife picks me up on her way home from work.

I usually wait till after the noon hour at least. Ethically I would rather wait till the street lights come on. I’m so efficient at getting my errands done I’m usually all wrapped up around 1500.
