Here is a more appropriate thread for the lady hijacking the post GOM thread
Not going to work. There’s nothing self serving for her to boast about here. We need to properly bait for trolls like her.
batteries necessary or not? You decide.

Talk about an ingenius idea.
We need to think larger scale. She needs her own forum so she can have multiple threads of different grievances.
Don’t stop there. How about she gets her own gcaptain and call it gcajaya?
You should have called it Real Feminist QMEDs of…
people that go in with a rank dont have those types of problems.
I used to want a normal life but that didnt happen. then I realized how many opportunities I missed out on, how much money I lost from not staying on jobs longer, how much longer it took to get my license and how far behind I was from where I wanted to be. I guess that can happen to guys too. But if someone decides to forget about all that other stuff and just focus on their career just as anyone else would, then they should be able to with not so many road blocks. If that makes me a feminist, than so be it.
batteries necessary or not? You decide.
I guess that depends on if the batteries are a backup to something and no one on board knows how to bypass them when they go bad, then yea…they are required.
Here we go!! The start of the new and improved pointy stick mob thread ( sorry c.captain, had to steal your infamous phrase…) let the games begin!!
Depends on what you use them for. If you have a lady on the boat you might go through more of them.
My god I was wrong. I didn’t think the troll would take the bait

WHO THE FUCK CARES ANYMORE? I just wished the “lady” would leave us seafaring men in peace here…
Hey now, watch your mouth! We’re having fun!!

You make Carroll O’conner’s character proud. I am curious to know how with 10k posts under your belt, how you have time to do anything else?
Didn’t need no welfare state, everybody pulled their weight…

You guys are hijacking my thread, this is my “feminist” thread.

Sorry, what I meant to say was:
I guess that depends on if the batteries are a backup to something and no one on board knows how to bypass them when they go bad [because they don’t know the basics of how equipment works and never bothered to learn anything outside of their routine], then yea…they are required.
How many of you get medical insurance from your employer? I find it much better to get from my spouse.
How many of you get medical insurance from your employer? I find it much better to get from my spouse.
Occasionally, I make a trip for a company with no insurance, but most have good (sometimes excellent) insurance that is 90 to 100 percent paid by the employer. The good companies pay it all. Trouble is most companies do not put you on the insurance for 90 days. I have worked for a couple companies that started the insurance on the date of hire.
What are we doing, derailing her feminist engineer thread?

From the one that doesn’t know what kind of equipment is onboard the vessel because it is outside of the scope of a QMED’s job. . . . . .
I thank you with all due humility and shoe scraping…I am Archie and Archie is me.
I am curious to know how with 10k posts under your belt, how you have time to do anything else?
multitasking my good man…which means the fine art of driving and posting at the same time!
(actually NOT! I have learned that tough life lesson already the tale of which is told by my front bumper)
“GUYS” like us…we had it made!
six posts to go!

I’m not really a feminist, more of an “equalist”.
Maybe she was just replacing the Batteries as we all know that these high tech Engines all have batteries mounted in the base.
I didn’t say we NEVER deal with them, I said usually Cleaning air boxes is not something technically involved.
Exactly!!!
Oooh, such a hard worker. . . how about hand cleaning a superheater? Crawling through waist deep bilge water to drain a failed gearbox. . . cleaning slow speed diesel airboxes was easy in comparison. . . let alone crawling tanks on an August afternoon in the Gulf. . . . I NEVER expected to be put on a pedestal. . . it was just part of the gig. . .
Sorry, I didn’t realize I was required to provide you with a biography or video documentation of what I have been doing over the last ten years.
Please enlighten us with your engineering expertise. . .
I never said I was an expert, I said I bothered to take training to educate myself on how equipment worked.
Why do you take it so personal anyway? Either you work there or you must be bum buddies with one of those guys that I speak of. I know it can be easy to feel caught up in emotions when you hear someone speaking badly about one of your lovers…but sometimes you just gotta learn to detach yourself and be your own man.
