I really must wonder is our lady engineer really does resemble Jonathan Winters in a boilersuit?

oh how my dear old dad used to love that movie! even I need to watch it once a year and it never ever is not hilarious…

hey…stifle it!
I thank you with all due humility and shoe scraping…I am Archie and Archie is me.

multitasking my good man…which means the fine art of driving and posting at the same time!

(actually NOT! I have learned that tough life lesson already the tale of which is told by my front bumper)

six posts to go!
They actually had to do a re-take of a couple of lines…they were hard to understand the first go around.

“Gee our old LaSalle ran great” was one of the lines, as I recall.

What a great show that was. They don’t write like that anymore.

We could use a man like Herbert Hoover again…

Gee our old LaSalle ran great…
Why do you take it so personal anyway? Either you work there or you must be bum buddies with one of those guys that I speak of. I know it can be easy to caught up (in emotions) when you hear someone speaking badly about one of your lovers…but sometimes you just gotta learn to detach yourself and be your own man.
Was that supposed to be a dig? You spout on here about how you are held back by your gender, yet display that it is your attitude and lack of initiative limit you. Methinks that less time should be spent venting on the Internet and more down below, tracing lines. . . . and please, be more creative. . . .

Herbert Hoover? I’m more of a James Buchanan kind of guy

We have not had a good can do President with balls since Teddy Roosevelt.

its illegal to be like that now as everyone is to offended by anything. Absolutely prohibited.

He was the best. I think people on both sides would want him in today’s climate.

You are right I have the wrong attitude. I am supposed to be pretending I’m dumb and that I’m taken back over every swinging (____) that happens to be in my proximity, because their ginormous egos can’t handle being near a woman who doesn’t swoon over them, because they forgot we do the same fucking job and make the same money. Or maybe, I don’t take initiative by spending my off hours with anyone, or by pretending that no, I don’t know how to fix anything and, oh pls show me mr mighty “engineer” man, and oh oh, if you can’t fix it, then no theres certainly no way lil 'ole me can! Hehe giggle giggle. I guess we will just have to tell the rig to have another boat come in so we can go back to fourchon and have a tech come on to discover that it was because of a breaker being turned off he he giggle giggle

newsflash, if someone wants to be swooned over for their impressive engineering/workboat skills or offshore paycheck…they should go to a bar!!!

Sounds like you’ve had this happen before and you should have spent your off time learning the engine room to learn where the breaker box is instead of being stuck in your room, or under someone’s desk…
I’ve sent probably more than my fair share of female cadets-mates on to rewarding careers over the years
female mates are not the same as female qmeds, they go in with rank, even from cadetship.

The only way I could be any further from a female mate would be if I were a half black, 1/2 Mexican transgender who entered the gulf as a qmed half way through my sex change surgeries from the northeast who also happened to be a muslim.
But, all the chiefs I have worked with have at least, expected QMEDs to know the manufacturers
of the mains and auxiliaries.
Manufacturers yes, model # no.I never said I didnt know the manufacturers, I said the model number, no one ever cared about.
kind of amazes me that someone who’s still in her 20s…
I never spoke of the entire maritime industry. ONLY the backwards place that is the GoM.

You don’t think they’ve not had their fair share of sexism while in school? I’d sure as hell give a female mate or engineer a ton of respect. She’s earned it by acquiring the knowledge and experience she needs to do her job. I’m sure there’s a few bad ones out there but I’m a lot more likely to have a favorable preconception of her because of the sheer amount of gumption it took her to graduate, until she proved me wrong.

No, they have problems too. Not to the same extent.

I once had a female cadet who was so fucking useless and had such a bad attitude… Wait we have had a half dozen male ones that sucked that bad too. Big deal. No amount of favors would have changed anything.
