To add to that build list, Anadarko has signed a contract with ECO to build 10 new 280 XL’s, and many of the older boats that are overseas are coming back to the GOM over the next few months. Good thing Slip D is already in the works haha!!
I find it hard to believe Anadarko wants 10 more 280XL’s. They don’t care for the one they already have lol. Plus they have the 4 state of the art <cough> Bollinger boats from ECO, two of which are already at work…occasionally.
Anadarko has not ordered 10 280 xls. All vessels being built from here on out will be atleast the 312s
STAY AWAY FROM MITAGS, WENT to SCHOOL FOR A CLASS THEN THE NMC, TELLS ME THEY ARE NOT AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL, MITAGS SAID NOTHING AND JUST REFUNDED MY MONEY!!

Wow, really helpful… way to jump in the middle of something by offering completely off-topic material.
If this is in fact as you claim it to be, could you at least tell us which class of the dozens they offer is not NMC approved/accredited?

the little black triangle lower left with the exclamation point in it is all you have to click
DO IT NOW!
Thinking about this post as I hold up the dock today. I’m looking at 4 HOS 320’s, 2 310’s and 3 ECO 312’s between the mouth of slip A and B. Add that to typical thing like several 280/280xl/240xl’s and so on. That’s a lot of new tonnage that didn’t even exist two years ago in a port that hasn’t grown. Oh yeah, all those boats have jobs too.
ECO planning cut backs. No working over effective now, $100 a day cut for officers $25 for everyone else coming soon. Boats not working will be trimmed back to COI no 2nd-5th Captains and assistant engineers who are living the dream on facebook watch. They are also weighing in on equal time 28/28 schedules. Good luck
I read this on the Internet so it must be true.
There was an article in the Chronicle this week about how the deep water projects would likely not be affected by the downturn in oil prices. For now.

There is one Anadarko Dispatcher that can floss his teeth with my Ball sac hair- Fu#k em…for the most part Anadarko has been okay to work with except for a couple ding dongs.
Make sure you don’t talk to the rig about crew change…tee hee!
Its the Gulf grind fellas get use to it.
Make sure you don’t talk to the rig about crew change…tee hee!
Or call them to ask what your going to be doing. Only company I’ve every worked for that’s it’s forbidden to try and establish a working relationship with the rig your working with!
That dispatcher in Fourchon I wouldn’t piss on if he was on fire. Feel sorry for the shore guys who get it from him 24/7.
Im curious to see if Harvey Gulf will fall apart as everyone is theorizing (if that’s a word). All of the debt they have has to be taking a toll at this point.
So far HGIM has cut travel pay and this morning we got the email that pay cuts are coming in January for all boats in the Gulf. (Of course, it was the “worse email I ever had to send”)
according to HGIM, this is the “worse downturn in the oilfield since the 1980s”
But maybe not, aybe the new sleek advertising on the NASCAR circuit will bring in some customers.
Harvey will probably be just fine. After all, it’s now owned by Walll Street venture capitalists.
That’s real, not rumor?
I heard it through other channels today
Shane Guidry did what he had to to get all the “best” people working at HGIM. Now that he has all the “best” why would he continue to pay them outrageous amounts of money. It helps him that he knows that companies like Chouest will not take people back that left for the money, so a lot of people that work at HGIM are stuck there with not many places to go, if any.
If people thought that full paid travel and, from what I have heard, $1400/day as a master and $435 as an ab was going to last on an OSV, your crazy.
Not too mention there has been talk that HGIM wants to go public on the stock market so that would mean pay would go down anyways. The Shareholders get what the shareholders want at the employee expense.
The email is posted on the corkboard.
The NASCAR sponsorship you can verify with Google.
outrageous amounts of money
Your opinion. I could easily say that anything over 180 a day is outrageous for Capts/Eng since that’s what we were making in 97. Same job.
$1400/day as a master
Maybe…maybe… on the Deep Sea.
Not on the boats under 280.
It looks like it’s gonna be a Merry Christmas and a REALLY happy New Year.
