Photos of new Tidewater PSV from Bay Shipbuilding

Weren’t those things supposed to be done two years ago?

These are the first oilfield vessels built by this yard. I guess they weren’t quite ready to tackle a complex design.

check out Leevac’s facebook page photo gallery. It seems like they just signed contracts with Tidewater and Aries and the hulls are coming together already.

Bay Shipbuilding has an excellent reputation, and built a number of the 1,000 foot self unloading bulk carriers working the Great Lakes.

Dakota Creek Industries needs to open a GoM yard. They build damned fine offshore vessels for a very good price. Trouble is they are too far away and need to be closer to where the action is! Hell, if I was they, I’d buy the old Avondale, fire all the managers and turn that into a properly managed yard…which is where they excel!

I live close to Anacortes…maybe I should go sit down and talk with their owners?

.

no disrepect intended to Bay Shipbuilding.I agree about Dakota Creek. the candies IMR vessels they built are top notch.

About a year behind schedule, something is amiss.

My source who is on scene up there said there were some delays due to redesign. Something was wrong and needed to go back to the drawing board and of course be restamped by all the alphabet soup agencies. The first vessel will be called the MV Dean E Taylor.
