Offshore Wind Farm vessels

Singapore may not have much space for OWF within it’s territorial waters, but certainly get some exposure to the Offshore Wind Industry:

Maybe it all started as a sketch on a napkin while having " en lille sølle Bayer" and “Snaps” at a friendly “Kro” in Copenhagen.

CSOV Olympic Notos has been handed over and named at Ulstein Shipyard:

Probably theses vessels:

IOW the Italian owned VARD Group, with Hq in Ålesund, Norway who operate shipyards in Norway, Romania and Vietnam design and build vessels for an international market. These vessels will have equipment from suppliers in Norway and other parts of the world.

Yet they manage to compete with yards in China, S.Korea and Japan.
How is that possible?

The company launched its first vessel CSOV, Windward Athens in Romania last month. The hull is getting ready for tow to Norway for outfitting.
It will be delivered in September this year.

Then there are four:

Boskalis new Rock dumping vessel WINDPIPER spotted in the South China Sea during seatrials.

Probably wouldn’t be available for work in the US if the new port dues for Chinese built vessels come into being. Paying $1.5 mill. per port call to load stones would not be economically feasible.

PS> They could load stones in Canada and don’t call at any US ports maybe.(??)
