A gleaming, 273-foot-long red-and-black barge – the 18th in the Shaver Transportation fleet and the 82nd on the Columbia River system – slid with unexpected grace Wednesday from its ramp at Zidell Marine Corp.
How do they expect this tug to do any sort of ship assist work with that fendering setup? There is no way it could get under the flare of a ship as it is set up in the photos.
Most of the assist work in the cook inlet is done along side backing or working ahead into the head like a twin screw…and no box ships so not much flare on the bow of an OSG tanker…

I always forget that not everybody has to deal with box ships.
