Posted this awhile back, but here is a picture of the new barges, which just came in this semester. Nice little training set up. They are fully functioning, and able to transfer cargo, ballast, etc.

Thats the best boat handling you guys are going to get. After a couple of years working on Tugs and barges I can say that I fell proud and useful to this day in the Industry. Just saling as mate on ships or worse yet doing DP on a ship, barge or other set up is a good way to make a buck$ but a shame to call your self a sailor. Just my opinion…
That is good to hear. I’m looking forward to taking the class next semester. Should be interesting with all the real tug and barge mariners operating a few hundred meters away in the channel. I bet they will get a good laugh out of it!

Not exactly sure.
The barges were donated by Florida Marine.
