1600 grt n.c master
master osv 3000 grt and 3000gt
master of towing n.c and western rivers
and oicnw 500 gt or more
ii/1,II/2,II/3,II/4,II/5,IV/2,vi/1,vi/2,vi/3,vi/4,vi/5,vi/6
So I ask if I upgrade to 3rd mate will I have to take a full exam
and he tells me that no exam is needed only seatime
is that correct ? I thought I would have to take a full exam
from what I read but did it change if it did I’m not sad for sure
can anyone confirm yes only seatime is needed to go to 3rd mate
or do I have to take a full exam or limited exam

There is no limited exam, it’s either all, or nothing. Which one it is depends on how you got to your current endorsements. If you never held [B]MATE[/B] 500 or [B]MATE[/B]1600 or if you have held them, but tested for them before 2002, then you have to take the full test.
