Looking for set of cfr for uscg exam

Is there anyone selling CFR’s that are used in the USCG exam? If not, where I may find reasonably priced copies?
Thanks for the feedback.

Your local library might have them.

Put this in your bookmarks. It’s free, and up-to-date. One of the nice things about paying taxes is that sometimes you get something back.

Thank you for your juvenile response

It’s not that juvenile, and it looks to be cheaper… http://bookstore.gpo.gov/catalog/laws-regulations/code-federal-regulations-cfrs-print

Am I mistaken, but aren’t the CFR’s in the test room that would be used to answer test questions not up to date anyways? Sounds like the guy might be trying to source the same books he would be using while testing?

everybody’s a critic…

indeed sir…you can’t even find a whole set of used 46 CFR volumes on eBay…

printing .pdf files with a laser printer would definitely be cheaper especially if your boss buys the paper and the toner…

but who am I so say? I’m just a juvenile punk!

Sigh…why does every other thread on here have to devolve into a pigfight?

If you prefer a hardcopy

Try eBay…or Amazon used books…or if you have a university or law school bookstore nearby…or a maritime supply store or school…or the gov’t printing office (as mentioned above) or Powell’s.

It is printed in several volumes covering the all the parts so you will need to buy the set.

Keep your receipts for the taxes.

But honesty, I’d also try to learn how to use the regs and lo and behold, here’s a useful thread with a lot of great info right here on good ol gCaptain.

Now be nice and stop biting the hand that feeds ya.

RECs should be using the latest prbnt version, but they would not include any chnages in the past year. E.g., our revision of licensing regulations is not in printed form yet. But, it’s probably more important to just learn the layout of the CFR, and where certain things are found.

You can get PDF versions of the printed CFR for every year back to 1996 here: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/browse/collectionCfr.action?collectionCode=CFR

When I tested they all looked brand new and unused. Luckily I didn’t have to use them too much.

hell, if a person is working, it is likely that their vessel might have a whole box full of old volumes. Never realized there might be value in those?

I tried to ship an old set home and got caught doing it, the weeny slapping hurt
