I tested Monday for my 500grt Inland upgrade, my license was updated “For Review” on Wednesday, 12/12 and hasn’t moved since. Is this normal that it’s taking this long to get printed?
Meaning they have received your package and are reviewing it before printing your license. It’s only been five damn days, be patient. When NMC first started up it had taken me 90 days to get approved and 30 days to receive my license. Also you could call, they actually answer, instead of posting here.
Thanks for the input. This isn’t my first license–it only took 3 days last time from Testing to Issuance. I did call and they told me they’re not sure why it’s taking so long. Just wanted to see other’s RECENT experiences with turn around.
Took less then a month from dropping it off @ the CG in Charleston to being issued & mailed back to me.
Where did you test? REC New York is still half crippled from Sandy and Christmas is right around the corner.
Didn’t test. Turned my packet in Charleston with certificates & two weeks & a day I had my new license with oceans. WV has it together as long as you have good health & your I’s dotted & T’s crossed.

Tested at the Houston REC on Thursday (12/20/12) and received my license (not issued, but received in my hands) on Saturday (12/22/12).
Passed on a Thursday, issue sent on Monday arrived at the house on Thursday. Friday was a 1/2 day once it was USCG day.
However; we just had a Engineer pass his test (about 8 weeks ago) and his was held up for 2 weeks. It was “UNDER REVIEW”.
