Ddash - There is a small company out of St. Augustine also. Can’t think of the name but I’m sure you could find it by using google.
Thanks AB Murph I’ll check it out.

Hey man I submitted my application to Hornbeck today for the ETO. So we’ll see what happens. Hope everything is going well for you.
Last I heard we needed to hire 11 more ETO’s. If you’re qualified you stand a good chance of getting hired.

Hey man have you heard anythting about MIT’s at hornbeck
What about them?
Dime a dozen…
Well I have been waiting for one to open up at hornbeck since February just seeing if anyone has heard anything
It would appear that all the majors are in a hiring freeze this week.
cool thanks for the info
Just getting back to feeling well, again.
Sorry, I had to cancel reservations, here, the last 2 weeks, but I did not want anyone to catch the flu.
It was a tough struggle, but I am on the way to recovery.
I won’t take any reservations until Oct 5 to give myself some extra time.
There had been a hiring freeze at ECO for some positions for the last few weeks, anyway.
So, if this was the time to get sick it was best for everyone.
Will keep you posted, as usual.
Thanks for all the well wishes.
Best wishes to all of you.
There are quite literally dozens of companies, many reputable and well-established, that will hire entry-level folks with TWICs only. Mostly for <100-ton vessels, which can be a fine place to get a start and build sea time.

The reason you haven’t heard anything is because you are waiting. You’re now lost in the pack, no matter what you have heard. HOS is hiring but you have to be proactive.
Yup they ignore all of the applications that people send in. You have to be there, in Covington, at the right moment to have a shot at hitting a job. Its the same with all of them. Thats not the way it should be, but thats just the way it is.

I’ve heard this rumor many times. There are workboat companies that do review apps and use their applicant tracking systems. Applicants may think their resumes and applications are ignored, but with the volume of applications companies receive there isn’t time to personally reject people who don’t meet requirements. If I just relied on walk-ins as a recruiter the majority of the people I hired this year would never have been hired.
Recent info:
Odyssea Marine is looking for QMEDS and licensed engineers.
It sounds like the bloom is off the rose down in the Gulf. What little job news there has been lately hasn’t been good. I guess no more PNW desertions to the Gulf. There goes my raise.

I have not had any mariners at my B&B for the last few weeks b/c I have been down with the flu.
Sorry, I had to cancel some reservations b/c I did not want any one to catch the flu.
Had forgotten to post the news about Odyssea before I got sick.
Will be back, soon, with more news when mariners return in Oct.
Mariners were told to return in Oct., so we will see what happens then.
It’s all about you making it happen when you come down.
Best wishes to all of you, as usual.

Just spent a few days searching for employment with a chief engineer limited oceans license and all of the big companies were on a hiring freeze. I got an offer from seacor… If someone on here works there I’d like to talk about it.
Odyssey marine is still looking for qmeds and licensed engineers.
