Itās winter things are slow right now, as it is every winter.
Come March things will start blowing up then hold on, there is going to be a SEVER man power shortage come the begging of 2014.
HOS starts it all off by dropping a boat a month for the next two years with 20 boats already announced, and we will see on Feb 1 and 19 if they move on their options to build the 40 something else they have planned.
GulfMark has two boats coming the third and forth quarter this year along with two boats in the end of 2014 with options to build two more. Which I expect them to use.
GOL has two supply boats hitting the water right now. two crew boats on the way
Seacor is building six crew boats, look at them to have one hitting the water every quarter.
Chouest has one or two more crew boats getting ready to hit the water. Who knows what their schedule for supply boats is, but a safe assumption is one every quarter.
Bordelonās first supply boat is hitting the water this quarter, and they should have three more with one each quarter.
Abdon has five boats on the way
Harvey Gulf has one coming out 2nd quarter then taking a break until the end 2013 when it will have eight boats with one hitting the water every quarter.
Jackson Offshore has two supply boats to be delivered in 2014, with options for two more. Look for them to expand their crew boat division soon also.
Otto Candies has one mud boat coming that I know of. They also announced they are building some new construction vessels, say four.
So thatās
46- Supply boats
15- 100 ton boats
79- total if all options are used over the next 3 years.
This doesnāt include a lot of small operators that slipped through, Chouest with their five US yards, or Tidewater as I couldnāt find any numbers for what they are building here in the US.
I also think there are a lot more coming. C&G just had a change of leadership with the old man retiring and the son taking 51% control of the company I see them announcing a new build program soon. Rumor is that Abdon might step into the real work boat market and build an OSV over 100 tons.
Donāt forget that L&M, Laborde, and Odyssea have not announced anything, but they are all strong companies and I cant imagine them not building anything new in the next few years.
