Would it kill him to leave X for a while and post here for the benefit of those who help support him?
I think those who actually support him donât care where he posts. And whenever he is initially mentioned on this forum itâs usually by his distractors, not his supporters. He doesnât seem like a guy who needs a life coach or PR person telling him what to do. Besides, if itâs his goal to reach a larger audience to promote his ideas & thoughts, X is the way to go. Itâs the same amount of time & effort to post to either platform, more bang for the buck (time) to post on X.
Of you could have just sent him a message directly and made the suggestion in private.
Youâre obviously seeing his Twitter posts so why would he have to post here too?
Also, his Twitter blows. He weighs in on everything and says âIâm just a ship captainâ as some sort of qualifier like there arenât 10,000 ship captains in the world that also donât know shit about air traffic control.
My experience is, it is way way easier to be an expert about things you really donât know much about, than things you do.
Is that your expert opinion?
You mean this; ?
Could be a technique used by forums experienced dwellers to intimidate other participants telling them : you do not know shit as I am the expert and authority here.
Besides the easiest way to lure Capt.John Konrad back to this forum is to say You disagree with Dr.Sal . Try it once and see what happens.
ha ha - exactly
This is a brilliant observation, and probably more apropos in the internet age than ever before. Iâm going to use this going forward.
Hereâs a good one
âAmerican ship inspectors still carry black diplomatic passportsâ
Huh?
âI dOnâT kNoW wHy hE dOeSnâT pOsT hErE.â
the usual suspects then proceed to be dicks.
Yup, 'tis a mystery.
Pushing back or questioning some shit he says doesnât make me or anyone else a dick
Liberal forum people be luving some John Konrad.
No but itâs a quick way for him to get mad and ban you. Heâs what his ilk call a âsnowflake.â
Interesting thread. Anyone have some thoughts to add? I disagree with a fair amount of it and I guess that makes me a dick so Iâd love to hear another perspective.
You ainât a dick the guy is off the deep end. In all his X posts says he has done since getting fired from Transocean other than being an âinfluencerâ on social media He did write a book that was OK, I read it. Since then?
I think thereâs hope for the guy IF he ever climbs out of the silo.
These guys are too online for their own good. loving Elon Musk who has gone on record multiple times opposing the Jones Act and doing anything to stir controversy online instead of forging a path forward to rep the USMM well. We need more spokespeople like Sal to lead the charge.
I, generally, like Sal. I do however think he doesnât always provide the right context for certain things but I understand that keeping out certain details creates a better narrative for a headline or YouTube video. I do think heâs a better/more accurate âjournalistâ than John.
I think this is the important idea. He creates a narrative that would scare someone who doesnât know shipping/navy/government practices. If youâre trying to generate clicks/views etc. thatâs the way to do it.
