Is it possible to be a US Mariner while having a family in South America?
Yea, tons of people do it. Especially deep sea.
Cajaya, when you have a moment, could you please expand on this? How they go about it? Thanks for your time.

we thought you said you were through here and had left already? We did not ask you to return…

I can’t wait to see the response to his question. I can feel the charge summoning in the air.

Damn Fraq, how much electric is that, 1.21 Jigawatts?

Yes you are right Fraq, I do have some thoughts on the subject but I am going to refrain myself -this time-. To answer your question
australswagman, its pretty simple. Just do it. I worked on a ship where the whole crew was from yemen (but with US passports). The wiper worked one year on, one year off. The penalty for adultery in yemen is death (maybe by stoning I think) so I don’t think she was going anywhere. As for the other countries that aren’t islamic, mariners that lived over there…it seemed to work out better for them the more destitute the woman was to start out with.
Like the other poster stated, its easier once you have more seniority so you don’t spend so much time in the hall (if you are going the union route). Anyway as long as you are sending money regularly! I don’t think that someone who has their own money would put up with it. So, that’s your answer! Pick someone very destitute and it will work. Eventually you will have more time off.

oh God NO! She’s back…and more BATSHIT INSANE than before. If only she knew how to stifle herself?

please someone just shoot me

we’re gonna need a bigger inverter

Yes, it does sound just about how things go on this forum for one of the most outspoken members to be making comments about others “stifling themselves”.

Disconnecting her battery won’t help…

What is your question exactly? You want a high paying job with a good schedule, a place to live in S. America and to start a family. Are you asking for step by step instructions?

but the vast majority of the time I win the sparring bouts I have with other members here and often win their grudging respect as opposed to some who’s asinine posts are laughed at months afterwards (I needn’t name any names…cough, cough)

No, you just yell, shout, type in all caps and post anomalous pictures until people go away. It seems like you have hard time expressing yourself verbally by the way. Is that why you always feel the need to use graphics?
Then why in the fuck are they risking their lives to sneak into our country if it’s so great?!?!?
For the same reason your ancestors did, unless your ancestors immigrated to the USA from England, Ireland,Russia, Scotland, France, Spain or wherever with lots of money in their pocket to open a USA branch of their company. They come because they are very poor like most of our ancestors and they are looking for a job they cannot find in their own country. People in the USA give them jobs so they keep coming. If the people that employed these terrible immigrants were prosecuted and jailed they would quit coming. The people that give them jobs are never put in prison, they just pay a fine and hire more when the ones they are caught with are deported.

I thought life in most of the other SA countries was supposed to be fantastic? Why not flee Nicaragua and move to Colombia or Uruguay? They don’t have jobs in Colombia or Uruguay? The U.S. Is the only place where you can move for jobs?

OUCH! that’s gonna leave a mark

No, we are just the only suckers who will take them in and give them free tuition and childcare, while they take all the lower level laboring jobs until people forget that Americans actually used to do those jobs. Oh yea and don’t pay taxes on it and send money back to their country, all the while laughing about it the whole time and speaking in spanish amongst each other (because NO ONE else in the world knows Spanish except for them) about how much they hate Americans and white people (because that’s the same thing) because they are oppressed by them somehow?

.
Yes they do have jobs in the countries you mentioned, many do immigrate within South America. You can find the continental immigration statistics easy enough. If your ancestors are of European descent you might ask yourself why they did not immigrate to another European country. Maybe they didn’t think they could get a job or perhaps they did not have family there. I for one am impressed by the first generation descendants of immigrants who work in the maritime industry. Their work ethic is very good and they continually work to increase their education/job skills. Until such time as those who rally against the illegal immigrant also rally as vehemently against their fellow citizens that employ the illegals their complaints will be seen for what they are, very poorly disguised hypocrisy and racism.

A lot of migrant workers would have likely preferred not to live here but just come temporarily for seasonal work and then return home where the cost of living is low and they have family. However the U.S. goverment has made it very difficult to cross the border, so many remain here.

One explanation for our current situation is politicians and their supporters prefer the status quo. This is why they refuse to take steps to improve the situation until some impossible demand is met. Our crops get picked and we have a handy scape goat for our problems. It’s win-win, unless you’re a worker.

Here we go again. If you question any social issues in the US, your a racist hate-monger and “hypocrite”. So sick of people shutting down any meaningful discussion of steps to move forward or deal with the issues with automatic labels and ad-hominem attacks.

Screw it, their right, we’re all filthy racists. Let the issues continue to spiral out of control and do nothing. That’s the best, non-“racist” way to move forward. Do nothing, plug your head in the sand, and scream “racist”. Mentally lazy ostrich people.

And now I’m a racist and a hypocrite for wanting our immigration laws to be followed by our own government. Might as well get on the bandwagon…

Is that a filthy immigrant lion?
