When a container contains two hazardous cargos, each having a different class, which class will the container be assigned?
I presume the container will be assigned the more stringent class, out of the two cargoes. Is it the class with the lower class number?
Thanks.

What do you mean by assigned? The container should be placarded for both classes with the appropriate marks as required. If this is a stowage and segregation question you need to first check that both classes of goods can be in the same container and then check each commodity against the surrounding DG, being aware of any additional stowage requirements concerning their stowage aboard the vessel. Oh, and take a look at your Document of Compliance too to make sure you ship the cargo and stow it where you intend to stow it.
