As someone who has lived for at least 20 years in the south and at least 20 in the north, there are pro and cons to both. Without having an endless debate, I will just state that I would rather live in the south and I would rather work in the north. Working on ships gives me the choice as to where I want to live so that is why I choose the south.

Weird, I just googled “AHTS Master” and this popped up…

We get some, not lots considering, but some reports of threads turning sour due to language, attacks, poor humor, belittling, and just general inappropriateness. Starting now when these threads (more likely a few individual posts) get reported, I’m just going to delete the thread altogether. I don’t care how good the thread is. We don’t have time to read through two pages of back and forth trying to figure out who is less wrong. We are just going to delete the thread.

In 1962, more than 90% of the world’s shipping tonnage was US registered. Most of it was unionized. Look what has happened since. It kind of puts the anti union sentiment in the south into perspective.
