Hotel Motel B&B's on the Bayou

If I have to stay a while and money is short, I definitely thought about sleeping in my truck and using a campground. I hitchhiked down there in August of 1979 from Alabama and got a job with Galaxy Marine in Patterson after a few rough hot mosquito infested nights in the old roadside parks along highway 90.

Those were the days, being able to hitch hike anywhere you wanted to go without worrying about being murdered. I used to think nothing about hitching from Norfolk to Boston in the 70’s

Put on my P coat and Dixie cup , throw my sea bag over my shoulder and would make it home in almost the same time as if I drove myself. I once got a ride by a state cop in an unmarked car almost the full length of Conn at 110 mph. Those where the days
