This often means finding smart solutions to seemingly impossible challenges, which was perfectly illustrated by Boskalis’ latest operation in Qingdao, China. There, they successfully executed the float‑on of Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited’s brand‑new floating dry dock Lucayan. With an impressive length of 413m and a width of 85m, Lucayan is truly Mega.
What about this transport, from Singapore to the North Sea:
It was the semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Mighty Servant 1 that made its debut on the project. In Singapore, the vessel loaded the 23,550t HVDC converter platform DolWin Epsilon for transport to Norway:
