It says 11 boats. GOL has 11 supply boats and few crew boats. Wonder whats the deal with that…
Sold all DP2 class OSVs and fast supply boats all of which but one is DP2.
Damn they just built them new crewboats and thought yall had a few dp2 crewboats? and still have one at Thomas sea getting built.
When is this color changing taking place? Also found out some news. . Gol isnt going to stop the boat business completely. In process of buying 2 shipyards. . Thats the reason the new boat has a lowcabin. They cant fit under the bridge. And the few he kept are on a good contract so didnt sell them… plus heard he just wanted to sell the ones that was a parnter thing that the other got out and gave to son. Might not be true info but time will tell.

The only reason I can see Joel buying a shipyard is to ramp up with newbuilds and then sell the yard but this is highly doubtful. Not saying its not true, but highly doubtful. The shipyard business is pretty tough to begin with.
Thoma-Sea isn’t very good at running a shipyard and is notorious for having problems when delivering a boat to the customer. Maybe Joel did t have a choice but to try an buy the yard to actually recieve his new boats.
I think if he bought 2 shipyards like said he can build the boats how he wants and don’t have to wry about the tomasea shipyard…kinda like chouest did the yards in Larose they had to haul parts down on barge cause of bridges. In the houma yard he can build them all the way and not barge anything… only time will tell.
